Westway Flyover

In 2000 Urban Eye initiated cleaning, painting and lighting improvements under the Westway A40 Flyover at Acklam Road in London, following detailed consultation with the Highways Agency. The project set a precedent in the UK for an outside party to work on Highways Agency structures and for this type of urban renewal approach.

Later Urban Eye environmental improvement works took place under the Westway at Ladbroke Grove, Thorpe Close and Portobello Road in 2008 and Bramley Road and St Marks Road in 2011. These initiatives, covering a total area of ±5000sq/m were carried out in partnership with Maunsell Ltd, Light Projects, Rhinoceros Ltd, RBKC Lighting Department and Westway Trust. The work was funded by North Kensington SRB, Highways Agency and Transport for London.
